Account and Cloud sync

You can use Fortior without an account. Signing in lets you turn on Cloud sync, which is a separate switch, and use hosted AI answers.

This page covers signing in, syncing across iPhones, signing out and deleting your account.

Signing in

Do I need an account to use Fortior?

No. Logging, your history and export all work without one, including offline. An account is free. It lets you turn on Cloud sync and use hosted Ask Fortior answers. Sign in before you buy a plan, so Premium attaches to the right account.

How do I sign in or create an account?

Choose Sign in with Apple, Continue with Google or Continue with Email. For email you pick a password of at least 8 characters, and Fortior emails you a confirmation link. Open the email on your iPhone and tap the link. You may land on a short page with an Open in Fortior button; tap it and the app finishes the sign-in. If it doesn't arrive, tap Resend confirmation email on that screen.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

On the email sign-in screen, tap Forgot Password? and enter your address. If an account exists for it, Fortior sends a reset link that expires and works once. Open it on your iPhone, and tap Open in Fortior if a page asks you to. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder, then send feedback from Settings.

Can I use more than one sign-in method?

Yes. Open Settings → Account → Sign-in methods to see whether Email, Google and Apple are connected, and add the others to the same account. Your history belongs to the account, not the method. Fortior never merges two accounts just because they share an email address, so you prove control of each method yourself.

I used Fortior before I signed in. Where is my history?

After you sign in from local-only use, Fortior may ask Attach Local History? Choose Attach to this account to bring this phone's history in, or Keep local history separate. Attaching first makes a protected backup, and where your account already has the same record, the account's copy is kept. Cloud sync doesn't start until you've answered.

Cloud sync

What is Cloud sync, and how is it different from signing in?

Signing in identifies you. Cloud sync is a separate switch, off by default. Turn it on under Settings → Account → Cloud sync, and Fortior copies your records to your private account over encrypted connections, so you can use them on another iPhone. Turning it off stops future syncing. It doesn't delete records that already synced.

What does Cloud sync copy, and what stays on my phone?

It copies the records Fortior keeps on your phone: your profile, workouts, notes, recovery, meals and nutrition, body measurements, health metrics and lab entries. Some things stay put:

  • Progress-photo originals and nutrition photos you choose to keep. They are excluded from Cloud sync and from exports. A copy of a progress photo leaves your phone only while you share photos with a coach.
  • Sign-ins to WHOOP, Oura and Strava, which are stored in the iPhone's Keychain. Connect them on each phone.
  • Derived analytics, which each phone recalculates from your records.

Sync isn't proof that every workout clip is backed up. Export the clips you want to keep from Settings → Data → Export workout media.

How do I use Fortior on more than one iPhone?

  1. Sign in to the same account on each iPhone.
  2. Turn on Cloud sync on each one.
  3. Open Fortior on each phone while it's online.

Changes you make offline upload the next time sync runs with a connection. If a phone is missing recent workouts, check that Cloud sync is on for both and that both show the same verified email under Account. For more fixes, see Troubleshooting.

Signing out

What happens to my data if I sign out?

Your data stays on this phone and in your account, and you can sign back in any time. Each account has its own separate store on the phone, so signing in with a different account doesn't show the first account's data.

If some changes haven't reached cloud backup, Settings tells you how many and offers two choices: Sync now, then sign out, or Sign out and preserve on this phone. The second keeps those changes on this phone only, so choose the first if you plan to switch phones. Sign out is at the bottom of Settings.

Delete your Fortior account

How do I permanently delete my account?

Scroll to the bottom of Settings, tap Permanently delete account, then confirm with Delete account and all data. The option appears only when you're signed in.

Deletion can't be undone. It revokes your linked sign-in methods, deletes your cloud account and server data (including shared progress-photo copies and synced workout videos), disconnects your providers and removes this account's data from the phone. If you signed in with Apple, Fortior also requests revocation of the Sign in with Apple token. Export first if you want a copy.

Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions, as described in Fortior Premium.

What's the difference between removing data from my phone and deleting my account?

Remove data from this phone (Settings → Data) clears this phone only, and your cloud account stays. Permanently delete account closes the account itself. Privacy, export and deleting data compares the two.

In the app: open Settings from the profile icon at the top left of any tab. Under Account, tap Sign in or create account. Once you're signed in, the Cloud sync switch sits in the same section.

Sync depends on your connection and app version. The Privacy Policy is the full statement of how Fortior handles your data.
