How to track water intake and supplements
Fortior can record the water you drink and the supplements you take next to your meals. It keeps a record of what you log and when. It does not recommend amounts.
How to track water intake
Hydration needs vary with body size, climate, activity and diet, so there is no single number that fits everyone. Fortior does not set one for you. It records what you drink so you can see your own pattern, and it compares it with a hydration target only if you set one.
- On the Nutrition tab, tap More, then Add water.
- Enter the volume. Fortior uses milliliters if your weight unit is kilograms and US fluid ounces if it is pounds.
- Check the date and time, then save.
Each entry appears under Water entries for that day. Tap one to edit it, or swipe it to delete or edit. Fortior records water volume only. It does not infer sodium or electrolytes from it.
Water and drinks both count as fluids
Daily progress has a Fluids row that adds your water entries to the drinks you logged as food, such as a glass of milk or juice. A food counts as a drink only when it has a serving volume and either Fortior recognizes it as a beverage or you switch on This item is a drink. A liquid measure on a solid food is not counted.
Because logged drinks already count, add water only when it is not already in your food log. Otherwise the same glass is counted twice. To compare fluids with a goal, add a Hydration target under Library and preferences, then Targets.
How to track supplements
Supplement logging is a record of what you took and when. Fortior does not recommend supplements or amounts, so copy the amounts from the product's label.
- On the Nutrition tab, tap Log a supplement under Supplements, or tap More and choose Log a supplement.
- Pick one you saved earlier, search the common list, or add a new one with Scan barcode, Scan Supplement Facts label or Enter manually.
- Check the serving, the amount of each ingredient and the time you took it. If the label does not list an amount, leave it blank.
- Tap Log supplement. Turn on Keep in My supplements to log it in one tap next time.
A Supplement Facts label lists a serving, such as 2 capsules, and an amount for each ingredient. The same ingredient can come in different forms, such as magnesium citrate or magnesium glycinate. Fortior keeps the form the label names, and you can choose Form not listed when it does not name one. Barcode lookup needs a connection, while a supplement you already saved opens without one. The label scan is read on your phone.
Saved supplements and routines
Supplements in My supplements show as one-tap buttons on the Nutrition tab. You can attach a routine such as Every morning, but a routine only suggests the time. Nothing is logged until you tap Log. Recent supplements lists what you have logged, and you can log a supplement at another time or edit an entry's time and amount afterward. Edits to a saved supplement apply to future logs, and past entries keep what you recorded then.
Making logging a habit
- Log at the moment, or in one sitting. Either works. What matters is that you pick a routine you will keep, because gaps make a log harder to read.
- Use one-tap supplements. If you take the same products regularly, save them once and use the buttons.
- Backfill when you forget. Use the date control to open a past day, and the time field to place an entry where it belongs.
- Treat the log as a record, not a score. A missing entry only means "not logged", so read gaps as gaps rather than as proof that nothing was taken or drunk.
How these records are used
- Supplements stay separate from food totals. They have their own section and are not added to your calories, macros or the vitamins and minerals counted from food.
- Sleep and training comparisons are associations. With Fortior Premium, Ask Fortior can place your logged supplements beside your sleep and lifting days. It lines up your own nights side by side. It never says a supplement changed anything, and it never suggests taking, stopping or changing one.
- Sharing follows the Nutrition switch. Supplement records belong to the Nutrition data category, so the same switch controls whether Ask Fortior, a connected AI tool or a coach you share with can see them. The AI connector returns water entries along with your other nutrition data.
Questions about whether to take a supplement, or how much water suits you, belong with a doctor, pharmacist or registered dietitian who knows your situation.
In the app: open the Nutrition tab. Tap More, then Add water, for water. For supplements, use Log a supplement under Supplements, or More, then Log a supplement.
Fortior records what you log. It does not recommend supplements or amounts, and nothing here is medical advice. Consult a qualified professional for questions about your health.
